Joy First, PhD, is a grandmother and peace activist who focuses on nonviolent civil resistance as she speaks out against the crimes of the U.S. government. She has been arrested many times in the struggle for peace She is a member of the National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance, Wisconsin Coalition to Ground the Drones and End the Wars, Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice, and Madison Pledge of Resistance.
